Cash For Clunkers Rules Explained

Now it is all clear. A few weeks ago, Virginia Right! did a post on the mandatory destruction of the “clunkers” that were turned in exchange for up to $4,500 from the federal government. This link shows the intentional destruction of a perfectly fine vehicle that had been traded in for a new car. The bizarre video displays a scene so illogical that it boggles the mind. What possible reason could the government have for requiring such a destructive and illogical act?

That question has now been answered.

A story from WFIE.COM in Indiana explains:

There are new, and growing concerns over the Cash For Clunkers federal rebate initiative.

Car dealers from New York to Texas are pulling out of the program because they say they aren’t getting paid.

“We’re probably owed about $45 million at this point,” said Mike Jackson of AutoNation.

Car dealers across the country say they’ve made deals that hinge on a government refund but still haven’t been reimbursed.

So, with millions of dollars owed by the federal government, the dealers have had to pull out of the program because the promised reimbursements have not materialized. The exception is the government owned auto manufacturers GM and Chrysler, who have offered the dealers a “loan” to help them out while awaiting the government check. One can only assume a bankrupt auto manufacturer owned by the government is offering to use government money to help out until they get the government money from the government. Whew! What a mess!

Forcing the dealers to disable the cars was simply a means to prevent the dealers from getting frustrated by the government’s failure to reimburse them and selling all of the clunkers that ran. Too late now.

This means Obama planned in advance to scam the dealers and wanted to make sure they had no recourse.

And Obama wonders why we don’t trust him on Health Care when his administration can’t even get a simple thing like Cash for Clunkers right.

It appears the clunkers are all in the White House.
